This our first actual week together... again, almost. Different team, different first week, but it is pretty much the same deal. What are we doing? Who is doing what? Who the hell are we? Typical shenanigans. The key difference, however, is that this new team already has a project!

The Deal

For those not in the know, this project signifies the second half of my Senior Capstone at Champlain. During the previous semester, the entire Game Major division forms small teams and spends a semester prototyping different game ideas, selecting one and continuing to develop it until the final presentations. At that point, each game is judged on a plethora of criteria that is, mostly, kept from us. Afterwards, about half of the teams are cut and the members dispersed to different teams. Suffice it to say, my previous game, Astrocyte, was cut... which is sad; but this game is looking to be awesome!

The Set-Up

The first week has been mostly a meet and greet combined with the allocation of duties. Our new team is fairly robust: 3 Programmers, 3 Artists and 5 Designers (This game is gonna be hella balanced). I, fortunately, am in my area of expertise: Systems Design! We've got a bunch of ideas, new ones and old ones that need refining. My first task is to document them and present the new concepts to the programmers and artists for re implementation.
